Zags go long for the win

The Gonzaga Bulldogs evened up their series with USF in dramatic fashion this afternoon at the Patterson Baseball Complex.

After surrendering a one run lead in the final inning, the Zags took the game in the bottom of the 9th through a game winning walk-off home run by Jason Chatwood. Cody Martin got the win to improve to 4-0 on the season, just a couple of days after being named to the Roger Clemens Award List, which is the prestigious award that goes to the nation's top pitcher. Ryan Wiegand also continued his great season with another home run, and Evan Wells added on to his impressive hit streak. He has now extended his hit streak to 20 games.

The Zags improved to 28-19 overall and a 8-9 record in the WCC. The final game of the series will take place tomorrow at 1 P.M, and be sure to attend as the seniors will all be honored.
