Sunday Musings...

It's only necessary that we talk golf on a Sunday...

--Gonzaga junior Derek Cheney of Richland, WA finished 45th in the WSGA's Men's State Amateur Championship. After firing a second round 70, Cheney was tied for 26th but a third round 80 put him out of the hunt at The Links at Moses Pointe. Cheney finished with a four round total of 308 (77 per round average)

--The golf team will take a big hit this summer as an event which had been rumored for some time has come to fruition as Brandon Crick has transferred to the University of Nebraska. Crick, a native of McCook, Nebraska will return to his home state and finish out his college career as a Cornhusker. As a University of Colorado supporter, this news is depressing but we wish Brandon the best in the future. Crick was one of the best golfers to come to Gonzaga. His freshman year he won a tournament and had several top-10's. He added another tournament victory in Las Vegas last year and many other top-10's. Good luck, Brandon.
