Zags Targeting Another JUCO Big

It sure seems that Mark Few and the rest of the GU coaching staff want an experienced big man for the class of 09'. After reporting that the Zags were in pursuit of Cifford Dixon, TKR has learned that GU has offered a scholarship to Daequon Montreal. The 6'8 PF is a native of Syracuse, New York, but currently plays at the College of Southern Idaho. Montreal was a third team all-Texas selection, when he attended God's Academy for a year of prep school. Prior to attending God's Academy, Montreal attended Corcoran High School in Syracuse.

This past season, Montreal played in all 32 games for CSI, including 8 starts. Despite playing only 15.4 minutes per game, he still averaged 9.8 points and 4.3 rebounds.

It appears that Colorado State may be the leader for his services, as CSU currently boasts two of his former teammates at CSI. Montreal has received interest from Colorado State, Oral Roberts, University of Washington, St. John's, and Gonzaga. TKR will keep everyone updated as we learn more about the explosive Daequon Montreal.
