Zags-Hoosiers Break in Lucas Oil Stadium

The sexy new trend for stadiums is for them to be able to facilitate any sort of athletic event, not to mention other entertainment events like concerts. Stadiums like the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona, the new Cowboys Stadium in Dallas and Ford Field in Detroit all will become main locations for big time basketball events as well as their initial purpose which was to host their home football teams. Lucas Oil Stadium (right) joins this group and the Gonzaga-Indiana match up will be the first basketball game ever played in the home of the Indianapolis Colts.

Stadium manager Mike Fox says that their will be 26,000 seats available to watch the action and he hopes to fill them all. For the entire article from WISHTV in Indiana, click here.

This should be a very exciting time for the Zags because they have never really played on a stage bigger than this (literally). Hopefully the huge backdrop of thousands of seats doesn't throw off Gonzaga who is used to playing in a home gym that only holds 6,000 people.
