Men's rowing to compete in WIRA Championships

This weekend, the Gonzaga men's rowing team will be joining the women's team in Sacramento, to compete for the WIRA championships. The WIRA (Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association) is the highest level of competition on the west coast.

In last year's competition, the Zags earned a gold medal in the Second Varsity 8 man team, and silver in the Varsity 8 man and Novice 4 man. This year, the Zags will have all 3 teams competing again. This year the Varsity team has been seeded second in the competition, while the Junior Varsity team will be seeded fourth.

In their first heat, the Zags will be going up against UC Davis, Puget Sound, Sacramento State University, LMU, and UCSB. Good luck to the Zags, and hopefully they can advance out of a difficult heat and make the championship race.
