Some news for Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day to all readers of the Kennel Report. Here is some recent news that we have not written about yet, and we hope that everyone has a fun and safe Memorial Day.

- Coach Graves and the Lady Zags filled out their opening on the coaching staff by hiring recent graduate Michelle Elliott. Elliott replaces Jennifer Mountain, who recently filled the opening of head coach at Santa Clara. Elliott just finished her Gonzaga playing career this past season, and should do a great job as she enters the world of coaching. She is 7th on the all-time three pointer's made list at GU, and in both her season's at GU she was named the most inspirational teammate.

- After a very successful baseball season, 4 Zags received All-WCC accolades. Leading the Zags was sophomore Drew Heid. Heid, who hit for a .478 average during conference play, made the All-WCC first team. The other 3 Zags received honorable mention WCC accolades. This was the first all-conference accolade for Matt Fields, Cody Martin, and Evan Wells. Along with being an honorable mention all-WCC player, Martin was also named to the All-WCC freshman team. This season marked consecutive 30 win season's for the Zags, the first time they have accomplished that feat in 27 years.
